Makin’ History In celebration of "Women in History Month," the Larchmont Historical Society presents, “Women in the Media” with keynote speaker Kiran Chetry, a CNN Co-Anchor on American Morning and Larchmont resident. Ms. Chetry will speak on how far women have come in the news world and share her own personal experiences, which include covering major news stories like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the War in Iraq. Film Fest Screenings of the highly acclaimed documentary, Pray the Devil Back to Hell, are being held around the world including right here in Larchmont. The film chronicles the story of Liberian women, both Christian and Muslim, who banded together in peaceful protest to bring an end to a bloody civil war in their country. Already the recipient of several film festival awards, Pray the Devil Back to Hell is generating Oscar buzz. Women in the community are invited to attend a screening at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Thursday at 7 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to 914.834.2981. Snow Peeps Almost a foot of snow blanketed Larchmont last week. From a winter wonderland emerged the snow people, who magically appeared on lawns and parks all over town. Was it the work of young mitted-hands or perhaps of those young at heart? We’ll never know. What we do know is that they are a whole lot of fun to behold.
