LARCHMONT: THE PHOTO EXHIBIT Last October 20th the Larchmont Historical Society (LHS) encouraged Larchmonters to capture images for "A Day in the Life of Larchmont." Over 50 residents of all ages grabbed their cameras and took hundreds of photographs of iconic Larchmont images like the Gazebo as well as people engaged in everyday activities like walking to school, running to the train or strolling through the village with a dog in tow. LHS created a collection of photos that will be on display at the newly renovated Hampshire Country Club this SUNDAY from 3 p.m. to 6 pm. The photo reception is free and open to the public.  More

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Over 100 students from the sixth, seventh and eighth grades at Hommocks School have been using their creative energies and talents to create the school’s latest theatrical production. This week the Hommocks Players take the stage in their rendition of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show retells the well-known Bible story of Jacob, his favored son Joseph and the eleven brothers who betrayed him. It is a story of treachery and hardship, of love and loyalty, and of making your dreams come true. There is also a wide range of music presented - from Western square dances to 50's Rock n' Roll pieces to Calypso beach strumming. It’s guaranteed to be a fun filled evening for the entire family. Opening night is THURSDAY at 7 p.m. Additional shows are scheduled for FRIDAY at 7 p.m. and SATURDAY at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Purchase tickets here for your family or be a patron for a family in need so that they can enjoy the show too.  More

BACK TO REALITY Exactly one year ago, Larchmont Chef Anna Maria Santorelli was wrestling with a deckle of beef on the Food Network Show, Chopped. Who can forget the moment she chopped her finger with that sharp knife….ouch! She placed a respectful second place that night (though we thought she should have won). TOMORROW (TUESDAY) night, she gets a second chance. Tune into the Food Network at 10 p.m. for Chopped’s "Back to Take it!" Will Anna Maria be able to redeem herself? According to the episode guide, "The competition gets off to a sweet start, with sweetbreads. But in the entrée round, root beer schnapps in the basket proves very problematic for one chef. And the judges are on the edge of their seats for a very tense dessert match-up." Hmm, sounds intriguing. The Food Network can be found on Channel 29 (Cablevision) or Channel 164 (Verizon). Buona Fortuna Anna Maria! More
