MARCH INTO SUMMER The unofficial start to summer begins this weekend and as is the tradition, Larchmonters will be gathering on Thursday evening to participate in or view the annual Memorial Day Parade. Join your neighbors along the parade route to cheer on local firefighters, policemen, emergency workers, scouts and representatives from the Armed Forces. The parade begins at 7 p.m. on Chatsworth Avenue. Best viewing available on Palmer and Larchmont Avenues. This is a fun event. Don't miss it! More

ONCE UPON A TIME Will Little Mouse prevent the Big, Hungry Bear from eating his strawberry? Stroll around Larchmont with your children to find out. StoryWalk is underway in the village. Stop by Larchmont Library for a map and head outside for a reading adventure. You’ll find story book pages from Don Wood's classic tale, The Little Mouse, the Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear posted on a variety of Larchmont storefronts. Better hurry. StoryWalk ends on Saturday. More

A LARCHMONT TRADITION It began in 1981 when members of the newly formed Larchmont Historical Society (LHS) toured several Victorian homes to learn about Larchmont ‘s history and architecture. The tradition continues 30 years later. This Sunday LHS’ annual House Tour explores the Pine Brook neighborhood, once known as “Larchmont Park” in the early 1900s. Tickets for the tour, which runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. are $45 for LHS members and $55 for non-members. Attendees are also invited to a wine and cheese reception at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. LHS is also hosting a Pre-Tour Cocktail Party and Lecture on Saturday, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the former home of sculptor C. Paul Jennewein. Tickets for both the cocktail party and tour are $75 for LHS members and $95 for non members. Tickets may be purchased here.

A DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY It was founded in 1946 by a retired professor and four owners later, it has remained a Larchmont institution. The community is invited to join Anderson's Book Shop on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to celebrate its 65th year in Larchmont! Mayor Josh Mandell is presenting a commemorative plaque to owner Tammy Greeman and Manager Jenny Siegel at 1 p.m. There will be music, snacks, and prizes throughout the day. More
