The Welcome Wagon
April’s Closet April Neuhaus always dreamed of opening her own clothing store. This week she gets her wish! April’s Closet opens its doors this Sunday, May 2nd from 1 to 5 p.m. at 168 Myrtle Boulevard. The store will carry both new and consignment upscale clothing, handbags, hats, jewelry, shoes, home décor and gift items. There is also a room devoted to formal, wedding and prom wear. April, a New Rochelle resident and mother of three, choose Larchmont because she loves the quaint feel of the village and shops there locally herself. With the help of her friend Joanie, a Larchmont native, April created a fun, boutique-style shop filled with interesting and unique items. Grab a bag of popcorn (Joanie gave April a popcorn machine for her birthday) or pick up a flower or small bouquet (April is also a licensed florist) while you browse and shop. April’s Closet is open Tuesday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and Mondays are by appointment only. For those interested in dropping off items for consignment, you must make an appointment with April via email aprilscloset@hotmail.com or phone 914.630.1889. Moderate to designer items are accepted and must be gently used, clean and in season.
The Big Three-O! Congratulations to Alice Giunta (seen here with Anna Maria Santorelli on left) from Alice’s Silver Canvas on celebrating her 30th Anniversary in Larchmont. Alice is an expert knitter who teaches classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at her Chatsworth Avenue store. Last week her students gathered at neighboring Anna Maria’s Restaurant to celebrate and pay tribute to their beloved teacher. Not surprisingly, everyone showed up wearing one of their knitted creations! Check out Larchmont Dish’s Facebook page to see the group photo.
