FUN AND FUNKY TRUNK SHOW Two local artists are holding a Funky Art Holiday Trunk Show at Recologie this SATURDAY. There’s a great Larchmont story behind it. At the age of 10, both Beth Nadler and LibbyAnn Denenberg moved to suburban Larchmont from the city around the same time. A friend of LibbyAnn’s family happened to also be friends with Beth’s mom and decided that the two 10 years olds should meet. As it turned out, they ended up in the same class at the Murray Avenue School and became best friends. The new BFFs loved art; LibbyAnn being more crafty while Beth enjoyed painting and illustration. They went their separate ways in college, where they both majored in art, but reunited in the summers where they worked at Playland together (a memory recalled with “horror” and hilarity). After college, LibbyAnn started 
her own dyed clothing line while Beth became a writer/editor at Scholastic. Both married (Libby to another classmate from Murray Avenue), had children, and settled nearby; LibbyAnn in Mamaroneck and Beth in New Rochelle. Their parents remain in Larchmont. Today these two women create art side by side in a Mamaroneck studio. LibbyAnn creates mosaics from buttons, beads, china, and stained glass that she recovers from tag sales. Beth likes to make wall art and buckets from ephermera and vintage wallpaper. Their use of recycled materials made their artwork a perfect fit for an eco-forward boutique like Recologie. For their upcoming trunk show, they will have mirrors, picture frames, fun jewelry, ornaments, buckets and inspirational art –all unique holiday gifts at affordable prices. Beth and LibbyAnn will be at Recologie from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to greet customers and present their work. Stop in and join them for refreshments and cupcakes from nearby Sweet and Social. HOLIDAY MUSIC The sounds of holiday music will be heard throughout the village this weekend. Christmas Carolers will stroll both business districts on SATURDAY from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On SUNDAY, young musicians from the Larchmont Music Academy are performing in front of the Larchmont Post Office and at the corner of Palmer and Chatsworth Avenues from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both musical performances are being sponsored by the Larchmont Chamber of Commerce. Also on SUNDAY the Larchmont Avenue Church (LAC) is holding its annual Christmas Caroling Adventure from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Singing talent not required. Those interested in participating should meet at the Church. Groups will be assigned to sing in front of other LAC members' homes.
YOU BETTER WATCH OUT Santa Claus is coming to town. Join him on SUNDAY from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Hommocks Ice Rink. He'll be skating around the rink with the TOM Firefighters. Please bring an unwrapped gift for the TOM Firefighters' annual toy drive to benefit local charities. Can't make the event? Toys may be dropped off at the Weaver Street Firehouse.
HOLIDAY FAIR Stop by the Larchmont Girl Scout House on SUNDAY, 1 to 4 p.m. for the Girl Scouts' Annual Holiday Fair. Find unique holiday gifts amongst the handmade creations by local artists. And don't miss the incredible bake sale!
HOUSE TOUR The Larchmont Historical Society (LHS) is celebrating 100 years of holidays on SUNDAY from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Join them for an afternoon of champagne, canapes, and candlelight at their historic holiday house tour. Guests will tour the century-old craftsman beauty of 126 Hickory Grove Drive East, a historic Larchmont home that will be decorated for the season. As part of the event, the LHS will give a historical overview of the home when presenting the plaque marking its inclusion into the Century Homes Club. Tickets are $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased here.
