OCCUPY LARCHMONT Ben Case is a 27 year old Muay Thai kickboxer from New Jersey, who teaches self-defense for a living. He is also a contributing correspondent with the Inter Press Service newswire and an Occupy Wall Street (OWS) organizer. This SUNDAY Ben is coming to Larchmont (home of the 1%) to discuss the OWS movement and the forces that drive the organization. The event takes place at 4:00 p.m. in the Larchmont Village Center behind the Larchmont Library. It is FREE and open to the public. Wine and refreshments served at 3:30. CONGRATS Larchmont’s online news pioneers Paula Eisenberg and Judy Silberstein along with the staff of their publication, Larchmont Gazette are to be honored this WEDNESDAY at the 25th Martin Luther King Jr Ceremony taking place at the Hommocks School. The Larchmont Gazette was Larchmont’s first online news site and operated from 2002 to 2010. The event, sponsored by The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Committee on Human Rights, also includes a keynote address by Rev. James a Forbes, senior pastor emeritus of New York's Riverside Church. The ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.
