FEELIN' BLUE Larchmonter and Dish Tweep Alex Oppenheimer was caught checking out the blueberries at the Larchmont Meateria. July is National Blueberry Month, and the popular summer fruit can be found in abundance at local markets. Alex, who counts blueberries as one of her favorite treats, knows a little something about eating healthy. She is currently a dietetic intern at New York Presbyterian Hospital and hopes to be a full-fledged registered dietitian by next Spring. In other blue news, little ones ages 3 to 5 are invited to learn more about blueberries at the Larchmont Library this Wednesday. The Blueberry Storytime features Robert McCloskey's beloved classic, Blueberries for Sal. There will also be a blueberry juice painting project and of course, a blueberry snack!
WHERE'S DAVE Lead singer Bill Steely and his band Where's Dave are kicking off the summer concert series at Flint Park this Thursday from 7:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pack a picnic and enjoy an evening of folk inspired music. Sample Bill's music here.
PUPPY LOVE Back in April a pregnant beagle mix named Lola was saved by Pet Rescue and gave birth to a litter of adorable puppies. Maybel and her siblings are now available for adoption. Visit Pet Rescue's website to obtain an application.
