Makin’ History In celebration of "Women in History Month," the Larchmont Historical Society presents, “Women in the Media” with keynote speaker Kiran Chetry, a CNN Co-Anchor on American Morning and Larchmont resident. Ms. Chetry will speak on how far women have come in the news world and share her own personal experiences, which include covering major news stories like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the War in Iraq. The event will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, March 4, 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 914-833-9080 or visit the website here.

Birthday Boy Happy 106th Birthday to Dr. Seuss! Children ages 5 to 7 are invited to the Larchmont Library to celebrate the occasion on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. There will be Dr. Seuss stories, games, and an edible Cat in the Hat craft to take home.

Beads of Wisdom Bead lovers and collectors won’t want to miss Lois Sherr Dubin’s talk on the history of beads. Ms. Dubin, the author of The History of Beads, From 100,000 B.C. to the Present, has collected and researched beads from all over the world for the past 50 years. Her discussion will be held at the Larchmont Temple on Sunday at 3 p.m. This event is made possible by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library.

In Perfect Harmony GiGi and Lou from Deuces Child, a folk singing duo known for their warm harmonic sound, are performing at the Winter Farmers’ Market on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Listen to a sampling of their music here.

And Thereby Hangs a Tale The Semi-Royal Shakespeare Company, a rite of passage for Mamaroneck High School students in its 36th year, is presenting MacBeth and The Taming of the Shrew in a series of performances at Hommocks Middle School, March 4 -7.
